Having a custom lamp made: how does it work and what does it cost?
Sometimes nothing fits. The lamp you like is too small for the table, the colour does not match the kitchen, or the void calls for a length nobody sells. Then custom work is not a luxury but the only way to get it right.
What can be made to measure?
- Adapting an existing lamp in size, colour or finish, for example a larger ring or a different shade of brass.
- Designing a completely new lamp, based on your room, your table or a sketch.
- A series of lamps in the same style for several rooms or a business project.
How the process works
- Introduction. In our showroom in Arnhem, with the sample case full of colour swatches. You feel and see the materials for real.
- Sketch. We draw a first idea based on your room and wishes.
- Design. You receive a professional design with dimensions and materials. We adjust it until you are satisfied, as often as needed.
- Approval and production. Only after your approval does the lamp go into production.
- Photos from the workshop. You see the lamp before it is shipped, and approve it again.
- Inspection and installation. After a final check we deliver and install the lamp.
What does a custom lamp cost?
| Type | From |
|---|---|
| Wall light or floor lamp | About 400 euros |
| Pendant lamp | About 1,200 euros |
The final price depends on the materials, the size and the amount of handwork. You know the price before the lamp goes into production. For custom work you pay half in advance and half on completion.
How long does it take?
Count on four to six weeks until delivery and installation. Within 50 kilometres of Arnhem, installation is included for orders from 500 euros.
Warranty
On custom work we give up to ten years’ warranty on the whole lamp, just as on our exclusive collection. Because a custom lamp is made especially for you, the sixty-day return period does not apply here. That is why the design process is so thorough: you see and approve everything before it is made.
When is custom work worth it?
- With a large or long table where standard sizes are too small; see what size lamp above your dining table.
- In a void or stairwell with an unusual height; see lighting in a void.
- When the colour must match the kitchen, window frames or furniture exactly.
- For a business project where several lamps must look the same.

Do I need to know exactly what I want?
